Nicollet Avenue bridge project will close section of Minnehaha Parkway through fall 2027

Trails remain open through the area

A section of Minnehaha Parkway is closed through fall 2027 for the City of Minneapolis to rehabilitate the Nicollet Avenue bridge over Minnehaha Creek.

Detours

Trails under the bridge will stay open, but they may shift temporarily. Please follow onsite signs and any detours in place.

Westbound parkway traffic is detoured on 50th Street to Lyndale Avenue. Eastbound parkway traffic is detoured along the two-block parkway frontage road spanning Nicollet Avenue.

Environmental Protection

Strict measures will be in place to keep materials out of Minnehaha Creek during construction, including a platform over the creek to catch debris during demolition and erosion control measures.

Some trees will need to be removed for equipment access. Protected areas will be fenced. For every tree removed, two new ones will be planted.
