On Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2025, at approximately 1:15 pm, Minneapolis Park Police Officers responded to Mueller Park on a report of criminal sexual conduct in progress. One responding officer located the suspect in an alley near the park. The suspect was non-compliant and a struggle ensued. It is believed that one round was fired from the officer’s duty weapon while still in the holster.
Responding officers from both the Park Police and Minneapolis Police Department took the suspect into custody. The arresting officer sustained non-life-threatening injuries during the arrest and was transported to a nearby hospital. The arrested person was not believed to be injured but also transported to a nearby hospital for precautionary evaluation.
