Partner Team Leagues

MPRB Youth Sports created NEW Partner Team Leagues for Minneapolis-based schools or youth-serving organizations to sign up pre-formed teams that compete against each other.

How it Works

  • Sports and divisions offered are the same as MPRB Youth Sports offers to all youth
  • Partner organizations must declare teams by filling out the Team Declaration Form by June 1, 2025
  • MPRB Youth Sports staff will form Partner Leagues and operate the leagues

Requirements

  • Teams must be based in Minneapolis
  • 80% of every team’s roster must live in Minneapolis
  • The deadline to declare teams for the fall youth sports season is June 1, 2025

Youth Program Fees

The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB) shifted to a new youth program fee structure in 2025.

Previously, the MPRB offered multiple options to families needing financial assistance, including scholarships, fee assistance, and free programs for people ages 18 and under at select parks. These options have been consolidated into a more straightforward, inclusive, and accessible model.

  • All programs will be listed at their actual cost calculated through a new formula that accounts for staff wages, materials and other considerations.
  • Discounted rates are available for youth under the age of 18.
  • There are no fee discounts for non-residents.
  • Families can choose a price that aligns with their financial situation.
  • Fee discount choices for Minneapolis residents are 25%, 50%, 75% and 100%.
  • Discounts are based on yearly household income and family size.

This new approach ensures all young people have access to enriching recreation and environmental programs regardless of financial barriers.

Volunteer Coaches

The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board is looking for more volunteer youth sports coaches for fall sports! We need enthusiastic, dependable and energetic people who enjoy working with youth to coach flag football, soccer, and indoor volleyball.

This is a great way to contribute to your community and help youth in Minneapolis.
