The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB) is holding a public hearing on the proposed design concept for Phase 2 improvements at Farview Park on Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at 6:30pm. The public is encouraged to review the design concept and consider providing comments for the public hearing.

About the proposed design concept for Farview Park
The concept was guided by community feedback, as well as recommendations from the park’s approved long-term plan, site analysis, and available funding. Phase 2 improvements include:
- Hill side slide and play area expansion
- Trail expansion to top of hill and other path improvements
- New plantings and trees
- Full court basketball with updated lighting
- Half-court basketball or bankshot (dependent upon available budget)
- New Accessible route to field, updated spectator seating and picnicking
- New storage building by field with drinking fountain
- Portable toilet and enclosure for Premier field
- Improved picnic area by wading pool
- Stormwater management
- Lighting and other security improvements
Next Steps
Following the public hearing, Park Board Commissioners will consider public input and vote on whether to approve the proposed design concept. If approved, the phase 2 improvements project moves into the final design and construction phases.
