The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB) invites local artists to apply for the 134th annual Music in the Parks series!

Since its beginning in 1892, the Music in the Parks series has connected local artists with new audiences across the Minneapolis Park system. It has grown to become the largest program of its kind in the country, offering over 200 free shows each year with an average annual attendance of over 50,000.

By performing in Minneapolis’ beautiful outdoor venues, musicians will have the opportunity to engage with new audiences and become part of a cherished Minneapolis tradition that has thrived for over 130 years. The MPRB provides scenic outdoor stages, audio equipment, staff support, and promotional materials (both online and printed), allowing musicians to focus on what they do best — playing music that enriches the community.

2025 Minneapolis Music in the Parks Application

The MPRB is deeply grateful for every musician and band that has applied and performed over the years. We offer the following support to help amplify each performance:

  • An Artist’s Table to sell merchandise, collect donations and have direct interaction with fans before and after the performance.
  • 20,000 printed maps and schedules distributed throughout the city.
  • Promotional posts and event listings on the Music and Movies social media pages which has nearly 40,000 followers.
  • An online concert calendar on the MPRB website.
  • Weekly marketing emails promoting performances, with a reach of over 30,000 registered recipients.

The Music in the Parks series is made possible by the donated time, talent, and energy of local musicians. Thank you for supporting Minneapolis Music in the Parks! Learn more at mplsmusicandmovies.com.
