Webber Natural Swimming Pool is temporarily closed

Effective today – Friday, July 26 – Webber Natural Swimming Pool is temporarily closed. During an incident at the pool yesterday, witnesses observed a person deposit an unknown white substance into the pool water.

Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB) staff are working with the Minneapolis Fire Department hazmat team, regional chemical assessment team and the MN Department of Heath to assess the pool water and determine a course of action. The pool will remain closed pending findings.

The same individual was reported to be acting irrationally, making physical and verbal threats and inappropriate comments to pool staff and visitors, and Park Police are investigating. The MPRB thanks the public for their assistance in identifying the individual.

Alternative aquatics facilities

People are encouraged to visit other open pools and beaches in the Minneapolis park system.
