The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board and Juneteenth Community Board present a series of Juneteenth events on Friday, June 14 and Saturday, June 15 at Bethune Park and Phyllis Wheatley Community Center, 1304 N 10th Ave.

Come out and be a part of the biggest family reunion with food, music, movies, entertainment, carnival rides, and a beautiful community vibe! All events are free to attend.

Friday, June 14

Movie in the Park: “The Lost Negroes of North America”

A special edition of Minneapolis Movies in the Parks presents “The Lost Negroes of North America” at 6 pm in the Phyllis Wheatley Community Center, 1304 10th Ave. N. This silent film will feature a live music soundtrack and MC AJ Flowers.

Saturday, June 15

Panel Discussion

The Juneteenth Community Planning Committee presents a special guest panel discussion at the Phyllis Wheatley Community Center on Saturday, June 15 at 9 am. Topic: The Black Family, hosted by AJ Flowers.

Juneteenth Festival

The 2024 Juneteenth Celebrating Freedom Day festival is on Saturday, June 15, 12-6 pm at Bethune Park. Come out for great food, music, entertainment, and carnival rides!

Music and entertainment are hosted by AJ Flowers and Da Black Pearll with sounds by DJ Dime and special guest headliner Dwele! The local talent lineup features:
