Update on Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board Committee Assignments

On April 24, 2024, the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB) approved a new cooperative agreement with the City of Minneapolis and Minnehaha Creek Watershed District (Resolution 2024-62).

The agreement includes a Policy Steering Committee comprised of elected or appointed officials from each party, including three MPRB Commissioners. MPRB President Forney appointed MPRB Vice President Abene, MPRB District 5 Commissioner Musich and MPRB District 4 Commissioner Shaffer to the Policy Steering Committee.

President Forney realigned MPRB Standing Committees to prevent quorum at the Steering Committee meetings. These changes go into effect at the MPRB’s next meeting, scheduled May 7, 2024:

Board Meetings

The MPRB usually meets at 5 pm every first and third Wednesday of each month for regular meetings. MPRB meeting agendas and related information are posted on the Board Meetings page, usually the Friday preceding each Wednesday Board meeting.

Board meetings are broadcast live on the Minneapolis Parks YouTube channel, where videos of past meetings are also posted. Live meetings are also viewable on the Minneapolis Government Meeting Channel, SD channel 14 or HD channel 799 on Comcast.
