New beachside concessions operator is open daily 11 am-dusk

The Painted Turtle is officially open at Lake Nokomis! The new concessions operator at Nokomis Main Beach, 4955 W Lake Nokomis Parkway, will be open daily throughout the summer, 11 am-dusk.
Head over to the beach to enjoy lunch or dinner options that include sausages and sandwiches, baskets, wings, and salads, grab and go snacks like popcorn, picnic boards, pretzels and cold sandwiches, and ice cream treats! In 2022 the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board and Painted Turtle knew the existing Lake Nokomis facility did not meet the State of Minnesota and City of Minneapolis’ requirements to serve beer and wine. The MPRB is working with Painted Turtle to create a structure that will allow beer and wine to be served for the 2024 season.
