Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board announces facility closures due to incoming winter storm

All recreation centers close at 6 pm Wednesday, December 21, and closed Thursday-Monday, December 22-26

UPDATE: Rec Plus and all recreation centers now closed on Thursday, Dec. 22

The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board is adjusting facility hours due to the incoming winter storm.

Recreation Centers and Park Buildings

This includes all recreation centers, Kroening Nature Center, Phillips Aquatics Center and programs scheduled at those facilities:

Wednesday, December 21: Closed at 6 pm

Thursday, December 22: Closed

Friday-Monday, December 23-26: Closed

Tuesday, December 27-Friday, December 30: Resume normal Winter Break hours, 12-9 pm.

Saturday, December 31: Open 12-4 pm

Sunday-Monday, January 1-2: Closed

Rec Plus

Wednesday, December 21: Pick up children no later than 4 pm

Thursday, December 22: Rec Plus canceled

Friday, December 23: Rec Plus canceled

Ice Arenas

Presently Parade Ice Garden and Northeast Ice Area will remain open for scheduled ice time. Staff will continue to monitor weather over the next 48 hours and alert groups if there are any closures.

Water Works Pavilion

Wednesday-Friday, December 21-23: Water Works Pavilion hours will align with Owamni restaurant hours. Check the Owamni website for updates.

Saturday-Monday, December 24-26: Closed
