Please direct all reports of potholes and other parkway maintenance issues to City of Minneapolis 311
Posted on 28 April, 2022The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB) is aware of potholes and maintenance issues along its parkways throughout the city.
Please direct all reports of potholes and other parkway maintenance issues to City of Minneapolis 311, see contact information below. As a result of a Service Redesign arrangement between the MPRB and City of Minneapolis, the city is responsible for all parkway repairs, as well as issues with city streets, street lights, traffic signals or traffic signs.
There are 55 miles of parkway in Minneapolis. In the past five years, 4.4 miles have been renovated. This includes Kings Highway (1.5 miles, 2017-18), East Bde Maka Ska Parkway (0.8 miles, 2019) and Theodore Wirth Parkway (2.1 miles, 2020-21).
The City allocates $750,000 annually for parkway maintenance, $350,000 for parkway lighting replacement, and additional resources for parkway pothole repairs. Those figures are about the same as they were when the City of Minneapolis assumed responsibility for parkway maintenance in 2000. Please visit the City’s Parkway Paving page for more information about parkway maintenance and resurfacing in Minneapolis.
