8.2 miles of bike trails at 8 locations will be treated to create a smoother and more durable surface
Posted on 20 September, 2021This week, contractors for the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB) begin major repairs on bike trails in regional parks and along parkways throughout Minneapolis.
In the coming month, 8.2 miles of trails will be resurfaced at 8 locations, beginning with trails in and near the Chain of Lakes Regional Park and along St. Anthony Parkway (see list of locations below). The project is part of MPRB’s ongoing work to improve existing park and trail facilities and extend their life span.
At most locations, repairs are expected to take between two and four days, barring delays. Work includes filling cracks and adding a layer of seal coating for a smoother and more durable trail surface.
Public impacts
During the project, individual bike trail segments will be closed and detour signs will be posted.
MPRB will send project updates as repairs are completed at each location and trail closure dates for other locations are confirmed.
