SWLRT construction requires Aug. 23-27 and Aug. 30-Sept. 3 closures; channel closes for season Sept. 7

The channel will close Monday, Aug. 23 through Friday, Aug. 27 and Monday, Aug. 30 through Friday, Sept. 3 for SWLRT construction.

Kenilworth Channel will be open Labor Day Weekend, Sept. 4-6, then close for the rest of the season on Tuesday, Sept. 7 for a Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board project to repair the channel boundary. The channel will reopen for winter recreation, weather permitting.

Visit the Kenilworth Channel Stabilization project page for more information on upcoming work to remove the dilapidated wooden channel walls and replace them with a natural channel boundary featuring aquatic plants, stone and soil.
