MPRB to shut off all decorative fountains in response to statewide drought

Effective Friday, August 20, 2021, the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board will shut off all decorative fountains for the remainder of the year.

Drinking / water fountains will remain on until winterizing begins this fall.

This decision is in response to drought conditions impacting Minnesota and much of the nation. The Minneapolis region is now in a drought warning as defined by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources Drought Action Plan.
