Columbia, Francis A. Gross and Meadowbrook are first to open
Posted on 17 April, 2020In accordance with Governor Walz’ Executive Order 20-38, Columbia, Francis A. Gross and Meadowbrook golf courses will open Saturday, April 18, Theodore Wirth Golf Course will open Tuesday, April 22. All courses are walking only. Other Play Golf Minneapolis courses and driving ranges will open as soon as possible.
The following guidelines and procedures were put in place to enjoy a safe experience for golfers and staff:
Prior to arriving at the golf course:
- If you are sick or are feeling sick, do not come to the golf course.
- Effective immediately, if you can, tee times should be made on-line. No walk-up play is allowed until further notice.
- If you are unable to make your reservation online, you may call the course directly between 7-8 pm for phone in reservations.
- Once open for play courses will have modified tee time availability
Upon Arrival:
- Please arrive no more than 20 minutes before your tee time to minimize gathering in all areas.
- The CDC’s requirement for social distancing of 6 feet is being strictly enforced on all property.
- All clubhouses and pro shops will remain closed.
- Golfers must phone in to the clubhouse to pay for their rounds with a credit card, groups are encouraged to pay with one transaction.
- Available merchandise items will be limited to golf balls, gloves and tees.
- Club rentals and pull carts will not be available until further notice. Please do not plan on sharing clubs with any golfers.
- Curbside pick-up food and beverage options will be available as soon as possible. Hours of operations for food and beverage may be modified.
On the golf course:
- The cups on all putting greens have been modified to allow for ball retrieval without the need to touch any surfaces.
- All water stations, tee markers, ball washers, above ground yardage stakes and benches have been removed.
- Rakes will not be provided for bunker raking at this time. Please do your best to smooth disturbed sand with either your shoe or golf club.
- Do not pick up your playing partners’ clubs during play.
- We ask you to please forgo the traditional after round handshake and invite you to create your own socially distanced salutation. We’re fans of the putter salute!
On the driving range:
- The CDC’s requirement for social distancing of 6 feet is being strictly enforced on all property.
- Range balls must be purchased with a credit card at the ball dispenser.
- We have increased spacing on the driving range which reduces our capacity. Please limit your time to accommodate all members and guests. Range balls are being cleaned regularly between golfers.
- When you have completed your practice please return your bucket to the cleaning station for staff to properly disinfect.
