Congratulations to the 2019 Fall Sportsmanship Award Winners

The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB) is pleased to announce the 2019 Fall Youth Sportsmanship Awards. Awards were given to five neighborhood park sports teams and their coaches at the Jan. 9, 2020 Board of Commissioners meeting. Teams were recognized for their players’ outstanding display of positive attitudes, commitment, dedication, persistence and overcoming adversity. Coaches were recognized for being positive role models, emphasizing teamwork, demonstrating strong work ethic and passion, and engaging players and parents to have fun.

The awarded teams were chosen from 226 flag football, soccer, tackle football and volleyball youth sports teams for demonstrating exemplary sportsmanship throughout the winter season. Overall, a total of 453 volunteer coaches dedicated an estimated 31,710 hours to their teams throughout the fall. Congratulations to everyone involved in another successful sports season in Minneapolis Parks!
