North Commons Water Park opens Saturday, July 27

The North Commons Water Park opens for its 22nd season this Saturday, July 27 at 11am, following extensive updates this year to the filtration and electrical systems of all three pools located in the water park.

The large main pool and deep plunge pool featuring two water slides will open as scheduled; however, the small shallow spray pool will not be operating due to a series of leaks in pipes below ground. The pipes were not part of this year’s work and the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB) plans to repair them after the water park closes for the season September 3. For the remainder of the summer, young children can enjoy slip-and-slides within the enclosed water-park area. The children’s wading pool located at the south end of North Commons Park is also open daily.

North Commons Water Park features opening July 27:

  • Main pool for open swim and play and lap swimming (25 yards x 3.5′- to 4.5′-depth)
  • Water slides and plunge pool
  • Slip-and-slide features on the grassy area within the water park (alternative to small spray pool)
