Guarded beaches, water parks and Webber NSP begin reduced hours

With summer winding down, the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board will begin reduced lifeguard services for all aquatics facilities beginning Monday, Aug. 21

  • Lifeguard services will be provided solely at the Nokomis Main and Wirth Lake beaches from 4-7 pm Monday through Friday and 1-7 pm Saturday and Sunday.
  • The Webber Natural Swimming Pool will be open 4-7 pm Tuesday-Friday and 1-7 pm Saturday and Sunday.
  • North Commons and Jim Lupient Water Parks will be open 4-7 pm Monday-Friday and 1-7 pm Saturday and Sunday.
  • Swim docks at Cedar Lake Point, Calhoun Thomas and Harriet Main beaches will be removed as of Tuesday, Aug. 22 for public safety.

On Sept. 5, all lifeguarding services will end and MPRB aquatic facilities will close for the season.
