Black History Month celebrated in Minneapolis Parks

The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB) will kick off its Black History Month celebrations tomorrow tonight, Feb. 4 at Central Gym (3400 Fourth Ave. S).

Central Gym will offer a movie every Thursday in the month of February to honor Black History Month. Movies will be randomly selected each week, but will be culturally based, with a focus on achievement and overcoming. These free movie nights are co-sponsored by Green Central School, and will be a great way for the community to see the new things that are happening at Central Gym.

For more information about this event, contact Central Gym at 612-370-4918 or centralgym@minneapolisparks.org. To see if there are Black History Month events in your neighborhood, contact your local recreation center.
