The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB) is rehabilitating hard surface courts at various locations throughout the Minneapolis park system. It is anticipated that the work will be complete this fall. All work is weather dependent. The courts will be closed at times during the rehabilitation project; please observe posted signs. Work will be done to rehabilitate the following facilities:
- Pearl Volleyball and Basketball Courts – will be resurfaced and restriped.
- Pearl Tennis/Half Court Practice Area – a youth sized basketball hoop will be installed to make it a multi-use area.
- Webber Park Basketball Court – will be resurfaced and restriped.
- Painter Park Basketball Courts – will be resurfaced and restriped. In the former tennis practice court, four square games will be striped.
- Jackson Square Park Basketball Court – will be resurfaced and restriped. One of the existing basketball hoops is being removed and a youth sized hoop installed. A hopscotch game area will also be striped on the court.
- Beltrami Park Basketball Court – will be resurfaced and restriped. The courts are also having new hoops installed.
Work Schedule
Work at Pearl Park is partially complete – the basketball and volleyball court rehabilitation is complete. Work to replace the basketball hoop at Jackson Square Park is underway. The existing hoop at Jackson Square has been removed and the court patched. Soon, both the new youth hoop at Jackson Square Park and Pearl Park will be installed. Court rehabilitation work at Painter Park has begun and is planned to be complete by the first week in September. The remaining schedule is yet to be determined.
The court rehabilitation projects are funded by the 2015 Neighborhood Park Capital Improvement Program (CIP).
