The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board closed all warming houses and 47 outdoor ice rinks on Sunday, March 1.
With the sun higher in the sky, rink conditions have begun to deteriorate. Because most park rinks are located atop athletic fields, prolonged usage could be detrimental to field conditions and cause delays in preparing fields for spring athletic programs.
For those not ready to kick off their skates, Parade Ice Garden offers public indoor skating and group rentals. Call 612-370-4846 for more information.
