Flooding Impacts Minneapolis Parkways, Trails and Golf Courses

Significant flooding is currently impacting parkways across Minneapolis.  As of Thurs., June 19 at 1:15 pm., the highest impacted areas include:

  • Cedar Ave at Minnehaha Parkway is flooded and closed. Barricades will be up shortly
  • Minnehaha Parkway from Longfellow Ave to Bloomington Ave is flooded for vehicles.  Barricades will be up shortly.
  • Minnehaha Parkway is impassable from Pleasant Ave S to Nicollet Ave S. Barricades will be up shortly.
  • Minnehaha Parkway from Bloomington Ave to 22nd Ave. The bike and walking paths are flooded.
  • Dean Parkway at West Lake Street is flooded. Barricades will be up shortly.

Please avoid these areas and use alternate routes. Additionally, walking and bike paths near these areas and around water bodies such as lakes, creeks and rivers may also be impacted by heavy rains. Please use caution.

Additional known areas of path flooding:

  • 2900 Dean Pkwy- flooded and barricaded
  • Lake Harriet Parkway-lower road
  • Walking and biking paths on Minnehaha Parkway in several areas are under water and impassable
  • Lake Nokomis 53rd St to 22nd Ave walking and bike paths impassable. Cedar Ave to Derby also
  • Lake Hiawatha – Walking and bike paths from Minnehaha Pkwy to 44th St.

Golf Courses

  • Columbia Golf Club – closed due to flooding
  • Fort Snelling Golf Club – open, walking only
  • Gross Golf Club – closed due to flooding
  • Hiawatha Golf Club – closed due to flooding
  • Meadowbrook Golf Club – closed due to flooding
  • Wirth Golf Club – closed due to flooding
  • Wirth Par 3 – closed due to flooding
