Applications are now being accepted for open positions on the Minneapolis Bicycle Advisory Committee (MBAC). The Minneapolis Park & Recreation Board (MPRB) will appoint three at-large members to serve two-year terms on the MBAC. The committee members will serve terms beginning June 1, 2014 and expiring May 31, 2016. The MBAC currently meets the last Wednesday of every month from 4-6 pm. There is no compensation for serving on the committee.
The role of the Minneapolis Bicycle Advisory Committee is to promote both commuter and recreational bicycling, to advocate for bicycling infrastructure improvements, to encourage safe riding, and to involve people interested in bicycling issues throughout the city. The committee functions as an advisory committee to the Mayor and City Council as well as the Minneapolis Park Board and serves as a liaison to bicyclists, businesses, neighborhoods, and other communities and agencies. The committee is composed of members of the public and city and partner agency staff.
Those interested in serving on the MBAC should submit an application by 4:30 pm on Friday, April 25, 2014. Applications are available below or by calling customer service at 612-230-6400.
