Pickup Truck Opera at JD Rivers’ Garden

Join us for a performance of The Return of King Idomeneo by the Mixed Precipitation Theater! This theater has been dedicated to creating festive theatrical events that inspire social engagement since 2009. They travel around Minnesota and Wisconsin to perform outdoor opera extravaganzas and are making a stop at the JD Rivers’ Garden in Theodore Wirth Park.
The show will be performed in the green space to the west of JD Rivers’ Garden. The garden will be open during and after the show for folks to explore and purchase produce (cash only).
Things to Know:
- “Mozart’s epic music comes to a 1950s street corner with a unique mash-up of passionate and exciting choruses, 50s doo-wop, and 60s girl groups. This mythical show is family-friendly and full of adventure.”
- The performance is fun for all ages with a suggested donation of $5-$45.
- Audiences are encouraged to bring a lawn chair, sunscreen, bug spray, and water.
- The show starts at 3pm and runs for approximately 75-90 minutes. Visit the JD Rivers’ Garden after the show!
- This will be an ASL interpreted performance.
- All performances are rain our shine. The show will be canceled when temperatures are above 98 degrees, when winds are greater than 45 mph, when there is thunder and lightning, and when the air quality index is 180 or above.
