The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board has plenty of activities for your child to enjoy during Minneapolis Public School’s release days. Check out a sampling of indoor activities, outdoor adventure, field trips and camps listed below.

Recreation Centers are open noon-9 pm on school release days

Rec Plus provides school-age childcare for children in grades K-6 at recreation centers before and after school and on Minneapolis Public Schools release days. Release days are also an option for children not enrolled in Rec Plus. The cost is $44/day. Activities include arts and crafts, sports, field trips, theme days, and much more. In addition to a wide array of programs and events offered annually, each recreation center has amenities available for you to socialize and have fun when it’s convenient for you.  From Ping-Pong to foosball, games in the gym or board games you can find a variety of options to suit your style.

Evening teen time at Bottineau, Farview, Folwell, Logan, North Commons, Phillips, Powderhorn and Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. parks. Check your recreation center for specific times.
