The Trailhead is the hub for a host of year-round outdoor recreation opportunities at Wirth Park. Some links below go to the Loppet Foundation website.

Ski Passes are required for all ski trails in Wirth Park, for either one-day use or for a full season. Two types are available:

    • All-Access for all trails, including those with snowmaking and lighting
    • Natural Snow for natural-snow area only
All-Access Ski Pass
  • Recommended for those interested in skiing on all MPRB ski trails, including on Theodore Wirth Park’s snowmaking trails.
  • Access to all groomed trails in the MPRB trail system, both snowmaking and natural snow.
  • Required for access to all North Wirth trails west of Theodore Wirth Parkway, including Hap Lutter Loop, Judy Lutter Loop, Twin Lake.
Natural Snow Ski Pass
  • Recommended for those interested in skiing in natural snow areas only, for instance, primarily on the Chain of Lakes or at Hiawatha or Columbia golf courses.
  • No access snowmaking or lighted trails
  • Access in Theodore Wirth Park is limited to natural snow trails ONLY:
    • South Wirth
    • North Wirth EXCEPT snowmaking/lighted trails: Hap Lutter Loop, Judy Lutter Loop, Twin Lake.

Equipment Rentals

The Trailhead offers equipment rentals with a full range of gear for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. Snowshoes rentals are only available when natural snow is on the ground.
