Youth Empowerment Summer Activities

WHAT IS THE YOUTH EMPOWERMENT SUMMER (YES) INITIATIVE?

YES! is a collaboration with the MPRB Youth and Recreation Programs and the Community Connections and Violence Prevention department.  Funding is available for community-based organizations to activate park spaces by creating free, safe, and FUN youth and family events. Youth are encouraged to help plan, promote, participate, and provide feedback on what activities they would like to see in the parks.

WHAT DOES A COMMUNITY PARK ACTIVATOR DO?

Community Park Activators will be funded by and work with MPRB’s Community Connections and
Violence Prevention Department to plan, schedule and provide activities in a YES park this summer.

Days and hours needed for activation

The need for park activation is greatest during these dates and time: 4:00PM – 10:00PM Friday –
Sunday. Additional dates and time outside of this scope will be considered based on proposal.
