MPRB will be issuing a Request for Proposals for consultants interested in designing and engineering the planned overlook. The overlook was first envisioned during the RiverFirst initiative as a riverfront destination linked directly to the neighborhoods. With the completion of the City of Minneapolis trail along 26th Avenue North from the river to Theodore Wirth Regional Park, the overlook provides a connection to the river itself. The project will be designed in 2018, and bid and constructed in 2019 with an opening planned for late 2019.
