Three meetings scheduled to review draft park design concepts and community feedback

The outpouring of ideas and passion for our neighborhood parks has been amazing over the past few weeks. We heard from hundreds of people in July about the East of the River Park Master Plan concepts. Due to community requests, the online survey has been extended for the park design concepts until August 21st, 2018.  Please review the draft designs and fill out the survey on the project page under “Design Concepts”.

Community Advisory Committee Meeting: August 29, 5:30-8 pm at Luxton Park Rec Center to review the two draft concepts for each park and review community feedback. As always, the meeting is open to the public, and there will be food and children’s activities.

Additional upcoming meetings:
Tuesday, August 21st, 4:30-6 pm at MPRB Headquarters: Regional Trails Work Group (open to the general public)
September 13th, 5:30-8:30: Community Advisory Committee meeting at Waite Park– preferred concepts for each park will be presented for CAC approval/recommendations
September 24th, 5:30-8:30: Community Advisory Committee meeting at Van Cleve preferred concepts for each park will be presented for CAC approval/recommendations

Please keep in mind that these concepts are only drafts and we will be pulling ideas from both (along with some new ideas) for the next draft of concepts that will be shared out again this fall.  We will refine the plans based on community input, and they will go out for public comment this fall. We will send an email to announce the public comment period opening.

*Please note that in the Colombia Park design concept, both designs keep a dog park to the south of the current golf course. There is no plan to remove or close the dog park.
