North Mississippi Regional Park

Attend an Open House on Thursday, March 26 to see design concepts for North Mississippi Regional Park

The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB) is working on a plan to guide improvements and stewardship at North Mississippi Regional Park for the next 20+ years.

MPRB will host an open house to review draft design concepts. The concepts focus on ecology, access and programming in the park. Attendees will view the design, meet project staff, ask questions and share feedback. Anyone can attend.

Open House
March 26, 6-7:30 pm
Webber Recreation Center Multipurpose Room
4400 Dupont Ave N, Minneapolis, MN 55412

Share Your Feedback

Take a look at design options for the park, share what you like and don’t like about each one. You don’t have to choose one design option over the others. We need your input!

You can also provide feedback via survey. The survey will close April 23.

Good to Know

The North Mississippi Regional Park Plan is being developed through a collaboration between the project team, advisory committees, community groups and park users. This includes a Community Advisory Committee (CAC), made up of people who are participating in regularly scheduled meetings to collectively make recommendations about the plan’s content.

If you have any questions or comments, please don’t hesitate to contact sali@minneapolisparks.org

Get Involved

In addition to attending this open house, there are many other ways to get involved in the project:

  • Sign up to receive email updates by subscribing to “North Mississippi Regional Park Plan” at minneapolisparks.org/subscribe. Email updates are the best way to stay informed about meeting dates.
  • Invite MPRB staff to present at or engage your organization, group or community in the planning process by sending us an email to sali@minneapolisparks.org.

Visit the North Mississippi Park Plan website and share it at minneapolisparks.org/northmissplan.

Long-Term Park Plans

The MPRB uses long-term park plans (previously called master plans) to guide care, programming and development at all its parks and trails. Park plans accomplish the following:

  • Set a vision to guide long-term development and improvements to a park or group of parks
  • Guide stewardship and help ensure that park features and amenities reflect the needs of the communities they serve
  • Help ensure long-term financial and ecological sustainability
  • Involve extensive engagement with individual and group stakeholders, other community partners and governmental entities
  • Subject to review and comment by the public, as well as public hearings and approval by the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board of Commissioners
