At about 11:45 am on Feb. 26, 2026, members of the Minneapolis Park Police Department, Minneapolis Police Department, and Minneapolis Fire Department responded to a report of an adult who fell through the ice on the Mississippi River near the Grain Belt sign. Rescue efforts, led by the Minneapolis Fire Department, were successful.
