Following community input on initial concept plans [PDF] presented this fall, the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB) has developed a final concept plan for improvements at Todd Park.
Based on that input as well as the park’s long-term vision plan [PDF] and available funding, the improvements include:
- Existing field upgrades to include a premier fastpitch and JV softball field (in partnership with Minneapolis Public Schools)
- Futsal/youth basketball court
- Nature play area adjacent to the newly completed playground
- Scooter/trike track around the play areas
- Picnic area
- Naturalized landscaping, including planted areas to manage stormwater
- Repaved asphalt paths
Next Steps
Park Board Commissioners will consider approval the concept plan at their December 10 meeting. Construction of field improvements is planned for 2026 and the other improvements for 2027.
