Ribbon Cutting Celebration at Whittier Park

The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB) is excited to invite everyone to a ribbon cutting, celebrating Whittier Park improvements constructed over the summer and fall! New park features include:

• enclosed futsal soccer/youth basketball court – the first in Minneapolis parks!
• basketball shooting area
• expanded playground
• plaza with benches under existing shade trees
• landscaping, including a basin with native plants to collect and filter stormwater
• upgraded amenities: lighting, picnic tables, bike racks and paths

Whittier Park location: 425 West 26th Street (at Harriet Avenue), Minneapolis

• Hear brief remarks from MPRB and other community leaders
• Enjoy light refreshments
• Play on the court and playground and learn about futsal
