Events planned 5-6:30 pm on June 16, June 30, and July 14
The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board, in partnership with the Native American Development Institute, is hosting a series of drop-in events to get feedback on three design options for the future of East Phillips Park.
Join us for free dinner, conversations, and share feedback on different ideas for improving East Phillips Park:
- Monday, June 16, 5-6:30 pm
- Monday, June 30, 5-6:30 pm
- Monday, July 14, 5-6:30 pm
Spanish and Somali translators will be present at all events.
Schedule
Each event will follow the same schedule:
- 5:15 pm: Welcome and introduction
- 5:30 pm: Presentation about designs
- 5:45 pm: Food and conversation
About the East Phillips Park Design Options
All three design options reflect and address issues that residents shared. Priorities and topics that people focused on included:
- Addressing safety
- Improving the park’s existing water feature, playground, and athletic fields
- Incorporating social and cultural aspects from the neighborhood
- Adding greenery
- Accessibility for all
MPRB is working with community members to develop long-term vision plans for both Cedar Field Avenue Park and East Phillips Park in the East Phillips neighborhood.
