Contractors for the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB) begin construction on improvements Riverside Park this Monday, April 14.
Improvements coming to the park include:
- new wading pool – playground – picnic shelter
- new sidewalks – picnic tables – benches – lighting
- removal of invasive plants
- planting areas to manage stormwater
- new trees throughout the park
- hammocking hangout
Work will continue through the summer and, barring delays due to construction or weather, will be complete in late summer.
During that time, MPRB asks everyone to keep out of fenced construction areas for everyone’s safety.
