The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB) has selected Jack Bartsh as its Director of Athletics, Aquatics, Golf, and Ice Arenas. Bartsh began his new role on February 18. In that role, he will be responsible for planning, managing, directing, and implementing goals and objectives pertaining to the MPRB Athletics, Aquatics, Golf, and Ice Arenas facilities, services, programs, events, and activities. That includes leading, directing, and coordinating the daily operations and service delivery for those areas.
Bartsh has worked at the MPRB Board for 25 years and has broadened his experience with all four of the areas for which this position is responsible. He began his career with MPRB as a Recreation Coordinator after graduating from the University of Minnesota with a degree in History. Bartsh has also held roles as a Recreation Leader for Neighborhood Recreation Centers, Recreation Supervisor in Athletics within the Athletics, Aquatics, and Ice Arenas department and Program Lead for the Athletics, Aquatics, and Ice Arenas department, working directly with the Athletic Facilities permitting area. Most recently, Bartsh worked as the Athletic Program Manager before serving as Interim Director of Athletics, Aquatics, Golf, and Ice Arenas for 10 months.
