Franklin Terrace Dog Park Temporarily Closed: March 19-20

The Franklin Terrace dog park will close temporarily from March 19-20 during 8 a.m. – 3 p.m.

The temporary closure will allow crews from the Minneapolis Park & Recreation Board’s Forestry Department to remove more than 130 ash trees infested with Emerald ash borer, an insect that kills ash trees.

As heavy equipment will be used, closing the dog park is the safest, most efficient way to remove the trees.

The nearest open dog park is located at Loring Park (1385 Willow Street).
