Hall Park has fully re-opened, following this year’s project that brought a range of improvements and amenities to the park.
The west side features a new and expanded playground, new paths, lighting, picnic tables, benches and a grill. Areas with restored turf include pollinator-friendly plants, and native shrubs were added around the playground.
On the east side, a new bike skills course includes native plantings and a stormwater infiltration area, bike racks and repair center, plus new lighting and benches. A bike-able sculpture, designed and fabricated with youth from Juxtaposition Arts’ Environmental Design Lab, is coming soon.
Sidewalk murals visually guide people through both sides of the park and its connecting bridge. They were designed and installed by local artist and teacher Melodee Strong and Franklin Middle School students.
In addition, some minor improvements will be installed next spring, including signage, a bench in the bike skills area and a shade structure at the wading pool.
