Share feedback on new park features and proposed name, Midtown Park
The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB) is planning a series of upgrades for a new neighborhood park next to the Midtown Greenway bike trail at 2828 11th Ave. S.
A park naming process is underway for the 1.65-acre neighborhood park that was officially transferred to the MPRB from Hennepin County in 2019. “Midtown Park” is the current name nomination, but there’s still time to share ideas and opinions about the name. “Cepro Site Park” is the temporary placeholder name being used before an official name is chosen, because the site used to house Cepro grain elevators.
This year MPRB staff will build a new park sign, raised community garden beds and a new drinking fountain with a hose hookup. The MPRB is asking for feedback on concept designs for additional project features, which include a new stage with backdrop, paths, benches and seating. Use the link below to share your preferences on the concepts and proposed park name.
Cepro Site Park Survey
The survey closes April 15, 2022.
Hennepin County acquired the land in 2000 to support Midtown Greenway development. The grain elevators were demolished in 2004, greenway connections constructed in 2007 and a variety of placemaking and landscaping projects have been completed since 2011. More park improvements are budgeted in 2027 to further implement the park master plan recommendations.
