Milestone allows MPRB to work on securing funds for design and construction.
At their July 21 meeting, commissioners forĀ the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB) approved theĀ final report for the Cedar-Riverside Recreation Center Predesign project.
The report identifies and documents the purpose, scope, cost and schedule for a project to design and construct a new recreation center on the west side of the Cedar-Riverside neighborhood.
With approval of the report, MPRB begins efforts to secure funding for the design and construction of a new recreation center, including:
- MPRB’s legislative agenda: Through an approval process, MPRB Commissioners will consider adding the recreation center design/construction project to the legislative agenda, which sets MPRB’s policy and funding priorities for each session of the state legislature and initiates the process of seeking opportunities for future state funding.
- MPRB continues work to identify viable sites for the recreation center.
