Two years after completing building-wide improvements and rehabilitation work at Painter Park Recreation Center, the Minneapolis Park & Recreation Board (MPRB) is pleased to announce an improvements project at Painter Park itself.
Based on the master plan for Painter Park approved last year (pictured), as well as initial input from the community and MPRB staff and available funds, the following improvements will be designed and constructed:
- New skate park
- Gathering spaces, pathways and landscaping
- Reconstruction of tennis and basketball courts
The project kicks off with an outdoor open house on July 26, co-hosted with the Lyndale Neighborhood Association. We hope you can join us!

Date/time: Monday July 26 from 5pm to 8pm – stop by anytime, rain or shine!
Place: Painter Park, 620 W 34th Street – tent near the tennis court
