Head to North Minneapolis Recreation Centers this week to sign up kids and teens for fall outdoor flag football or soccer leagues! Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB) staff will be at Creekview, Farview, Folwell, Harrison, North Commons and Webber Recreation Centers, 4-8 pm all week to help families register for fall outdoor sports.
MPRB staff is monitoring guidance from the Minnesota Department of Health on a daily basis and developed league rules and guidelines around recommendations from public health experts. Youth outdoor soccer and youth outdoor flag football will take place with modifications in place to help protect all league participants while offering opportunities to compete, have fun and be healthy in the parks this fall. Thank you for your continued support and understanding during the COVID-19 pandemic.
League Details
Flag Football
Every NFL player started somewhere! Learn basic football plays, offensive/defensive skills, run routes and learn football skills in a non-contact, fun and energetic atmosphere. Drills, games and team interaction are used to teach the fundamentals of flag football. This program builds football skills, emphasizes teamwork and sportsmanship, and promotes fair play.
6U and 8U Leagues: North / Northeast Parks
11U – 18U Leagues: Citywide locations
Cost: $10
All participants will receive a reversable NFL jersey!
Outdoor Soccer
GOAL! The MPRB offers a Youth Soccer league during the fall months. This is an excellent opportunity to meet new friends, gain experience, learn new skills, enhance skills and get in shape while playing the exciting sport of soccer.
6U and 8U Leagues: North / Northeast Parks
Cost: $35
11U – 18U Leagues: Citywide locations
Cost: $40
All participants will receive a reversable jersey!
