The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board is excited to offer two new sports leagues, Bags and Lawn Bowling, at The Commons in Downtown Minneapolis this year.
Bags
When: Tuesday and Thursday nights, July-September
Where: The Commons
Leagues: Open (no gender requirements)
Season: Eight weeks scheduled, including championship round on last week
Cost: $100
Lawn Bowling
When: Wednesdays 6-7 pm, August-September
Where: The Commons
Leagues: Open (no gender requirements)
Season: Six weeks scheduled
Cost: $250

Leagues: Women’s Wednesdays, Open (no gender requirements) Thursdays

Indoor Volleyball
When: Sundays-Thursdays, late September-December
Where: Armatage, Bottineau, Harrison, Luxton, MLK, Nokomis, Northeast, Van Cleve, Whittier, Windom NE
Leagues: Co-Ed Sundays-Thursdays, Open Sundays, Women’s Thursdays
Season: 10 weeks scheduled, including tournament
Cost: $355
Kickball
When: Sunday-Thursday, August-October
Where: Bossen, Bryn Mawr, Nokomis, Northeast
Leagues: Co-Ed only
Season: Nine weeks scheduled
Cost: $305
Outdoor Soccer
When: Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, August-October
Where: Elliot, Neiman, Parade
Leagues: Co-Ed, Men’s and Open (six-on-six and 11-on-11 leagues available)
Season: Nine weeks scheduled, including post-season tournament
Cost: $655 six-on-six; $985 11-on-11

Seasons: Five-week doubleheaders
Cost: $355 non-lit fields; $415 lit fields

Are you an individual looking to get placed on a team? Register as a Free Agent. Your information will be passed along to teams needing players. If enough individuals register, an attempt will be made to organize a team from the Free Agent list.

The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board is always looking to hire more officials for any of the sports listed above! Earn extra cash and stay involved in the sports you love!

Minneapolis residents who cannot afford instructional fees because of economic need may apply for fee assistance through the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board Fee Assistance Program.

Athletic Field Rentals
Not all applications are guaranteed a permit for field use. Permits are granted to user groups according to the priority list and field availability. The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board reserves the right to cancel a permit at any time.
Priority of Usage
- Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board programs
- MPS K-12 programs (including Athletics and Community Education programs)
- Returning permit holders requesting similar dates and hours from the previous year
- New community groups and organizations
