The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board will have all of its outdoor ice rinks open by Saturday, January 20, 2024! The first rink is opening today, Wednesday, January 17, at Lyndale Farmstead Park. Five more sites will open tomorrow, and the remaining 16 sites will open Friday or Saturday.

In total, 45 general skating, hockey or broomball rinks will be offered at 22 parks this year. All outdoor rinks are free to use, open to the public, offer a warming room, and lit until at least 9 pm. Sites with broomball are lit until 10:15 pm: Logan, Longfellow, McRae, Shingle Creek, Van Cleve and Windom NE.

Visit the Ice Rinks page for full details on rink locations, openings, and closures, warming room hours and information on the rink building process.
