Project Update: Construction has paused for the winter

Please stay out of the construction area – native prairie seeds need to grow next spring!

Construction at Perkins Hill Park’s pump track is nearly complete, but due to weather and cold temperatures, it is on hold until spring.

Project staff at the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB) kindly ask everyone to stay out of the construction area during this time.

Biking or walking at the site can cause erosion on the dirt slopes all around the track. These areas are seeded with native prairie plants that need to germinate and take root next spring.

Please help us protect the seeds, so that everyone can have a great experience when the track opens next spring!

Construction will resume as soon as temperatures allow. We look forward to sharing updates at that time and announcing a grand opening celebration.

Thanks for your patience and support as we work to bring new features to Minneapolis parks!
