Playground Project Update: Longfellow Park

Unfortunately, due to unexpectedly long lead times for procuring equipment, the planned playground improvements at Longfellow Park have been delayed. 

Some work will begin in late June or early July, with installation of new play equipment expected in mid August.

During construction, the closest playgrounds open for play are at:

  • Matthews Park (2318 29th Ave. S.)
  • Brackett Field Park (2728 S 39th Ave.)
  • Hiawatha School Park (4305 E 42nd St.)
  • Sibley Park (1900 E 40th St.)

The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board appreciates the public’s patience while staff works to improve Minneapolis parks and playgrounds.
