Join us May 18 for the next Minneapolis Parks Urban Agriculture Team Meeting

The next Urban Agriculture Team Meeting is scheduled Thursday, May 18, 2017, 4-5:30 pm at Powderhorn Recreation Center, 3400 15th Ave S.

During the last meeting, we took a look at a geographic analysis that examines Minneapolis Parks’ proximity to Minneapolis Public Schools and farmer’s markets. Then the group discussed how to approach healthy foods recommendations and programming given strong geographic opportunities with both the schools and farmer’s markets.

At the May 18 meeting, we will: 

  • Review an updated draft of the vegetation molestation ordinance, per comments received at the last meeting.
  • Discuss opportunities to begin local urban agriculture partnership/programming efforts 
  • Walk a site within Powderhorn Park designated for urban agriculture and talk about the steps necessary to move forward with putting the community gardening concept into action!
