Bryant Square Park Improvements construction updatePosted on 26 October, 2016
The water pump and dry stream bed will be installed next week. After that, playground surfacing – wood fiber in the age 5-12 play area and sand in the age 2-5 play area – will be delivered and placed. Once the surfacing is in place, the fence will be removed and the playground will open for use. A Grand Opening is scheduled for next spring.

New furnaces will be installed by mid-November. Foundation repairs, roof replacement and air conditioning remain on the list of additional projects.
Wading Pool Improvements
Additional funds have been requested for the wading pool reconstruction as part of the 2017 Capital Improvement Program [PDF] (CIP) after bids came in considerably over the project’s available budget this year. If the 2017 CIP is approved by the Board of Commissioners, the project will be re-bid in January for construction in 2017.
Calhoun Area Residents Action Group (CARAG) generously donated funds to add water features, a shade structure and ornamental fencing to the wading pool project. CARAG, along with other partners and community members, celebrated five new murals at the recreation center in a ceremony earlier this fall.
