Pavement restoration closes Mississippi East Bank Trail May 29-June 1

Mississippi East Bank Trail will be closed between Boom Island Park and Sheridan Memorial Park beginning Tuesday, May 29, 2018. The closure is expected to last through Friday, June 1. It is necessary to repair pavement damaged during the Hall’s Island restoration.

Trail users may have noticed workers grading and planting on the restored Hall’s Island this spring. That work is scheduled to continue through June and it’s expected to take up to a year for the vegetation to establish on the island.

The gravel mainland beach is open, but do not go on the island. Hall’s Island will remain off-limits for people until Phase 2 is built, which includes two bridges to the island and an island boardwalk.
