Sheridan Memorial Park Improvements Update

Project will likely be delayed due to high construction bids

After the concept design for upcoming improvements to Sheridan Memorial Park was approved in fall 2017, the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB) solicited construction bids for the Sheridan Memorial Park Improvement Project this spring. Due to the challenging construction market, only two bids were received and both exceeded the project budget.

MPRB staff will rework the plans and rebid the project later this summer. This will likely result in a delayed construction start and could also include a phased approach to implementation, but construction is still anticipated to occur this year.

Project Funding

Funding for these improvements is supported by a $500,000 grant from the National Park Service for Outdoor Legacy Partnership and a $1 million match from Minnesota Parks and Trails Legacy funding.
